Lawyer and radical activist Florence "Flo" Kennedy founded the Feminist Party in 1971, frustrated by the politics of more mainstream women's organizations at the time. Outside of the courtroom, Kennedy used her flamboyant personal style and theatrical flair to stage public actions protesting racism and sexism.
